MONDAY
Todays Monday consisted of a lot of coffee! It was a busy day but I learned so much! Today, Amanda and I worked on a new project with a doctor who wants to freshen up his waiting room. He wanted a new look, and a new layout. So, first things first was finding what he wanted and to make a presentation with the products we've found, to show him later in the week. I looked on Allsteel, KI, Kimball and more manufactures. This part takes the longest because you are looking for exactly what the client wants and there are many options with so many different benefits. Typically you want to give the client three or more options in your presentation. One thing really like about this project, is I am getting really familiar with the furniture dealerships and their products. The more I look for the furniture, the more I can find specific pieces easier! I finished the presentation and we sent it off! Later in the day I was able to work on Revit while Amanda caught up on some of her other projects. It was a productive Monday!
TUESDAY
We took it easy today in the office. The interiors library needed to be organized and Amanda needed to catch up on a few projects. I finished organizing a few things before lunch, after Amanda gave me a small project to work on. She needed me to order more samples for a elementary school's library. I had free time to work in Revit later in the day and was able to learn new tricks!
WEDNESDAY
This Wednesday started out with a lot of binders needing organizing. Our Allsteel rep, Amy, brought in all of our new Allsteel binders and said they needed to be organized. I started right away and it took me till about lunch time. It wasn't bad. Me personally, I love organizing. I put my headphones in and go to town. This was also a great way for me to get familiar with the new products.
THURSDAY
Today is my Friday! I will be spending the weekend in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to attend a workshop and have some much needed girl time with my friends from school! This morning started off super busy! Amanda asked me to draw an existing floor plan for an elementary school's library in AutoCAD. Thanks to my awesome AutoCAD teacher, I learned a trick on how to be able to draw a floor plan by simply bringing in the PDF file into AutoCAD, scaling the picture to the correct scale, and tracing it. It was easy peezy and Amanda was very impressed. After I finished, I was asked to find the furniture blocks that were being used in the space and asked to put them into the floorplan where I thought they would fit best. I started space planning and finally found the best fit. It has been a while since used AutoCAD, so completing that task took me a little longer than it should have. But, with the help of Lynda.com, I was able to quickly type in my question and find a video tutorial on how to help. Five o'clock quickly approached and it was time to hit the road for an eventful weekend in Hattiesburg.
